Your Environment

People have the ability to perceive their environment and to think about ways in which they can change a situation through action according to their requirements and needs. This mental anticipation of an action (see also white paper “Planning”) only works as well as the model on which the actor’s idea of his environment and himself is based.

Certain general conditions are always present. They can hardly or only be changed with difficulty and are often complex in nature (see white paper “Complexity”). Our economic system is predetermined. Legal requirements often regulate more than a single person can grasp. We can make decisions, such as putting our rubbish in the right bin, in order to contribute to correct waste disposal. In the short term, this will not change the sea currents in the oceans. In addition, humans are social creatures, even if this can often no longer be recognized.

How other people behave or how what is technically feasible develops is rarely within our sphere of influence. On the contrary: we are the sphere of influence of other forces.

People have different methods of making decisions depending on the situation and the implications. If the saber-toothed tiger is after you, there is certainly no need for a thorough analysis of the overall situation - the adrenaline released decides for you. However, when it comes to the question of which construction project you want to implement, you should prevent your endocrine system from taking over.
