New Version 2.5

PhaenoMind Version 2.5 with ChatGPT

The blog post on AI and “What do we have left?” has gone viral. I guess I struck a nerve?

What remains after AI?

However, that doesn’t mean that AI can’t help us evaluate the components of a decision. PhænoMind can now use ChatGPT as a supplier for decision-making bases in three stages:

  • Once a decision has been created and the relevant term has been entered, ChatGPT can provide an outline of the description. To do this, simply click in the empty text field of the decision and then on the æ symbol. However, the text is usually not very good, because a single word cannot be used to generate very good descriptions.
  • This description can then be supplemented, modified, and completed. It then serves as the basis for suggestions for criteria and options.
  • To do this, click on the æ symbol at the top of the options and criteria bubbles again.
  • A selection bubble with 10 possible options or criteria will appear. Suitable elements can be selected here by clicking on them.
  • The check mark at the bottom right transfers the selection to the options or criteria.

After that, the decision process continues as normal:

  • Assigning attributes (number, higher is better)
  • Weighting (automatic or manual)
  • Rating (values for options or pairwise comparison)
  • Deciding (!)

And it is precisely these four steps that AI cannot do for us. On the one hand, that’s a shame, but on the other hand, it’s also reassuring, isn’t it?

Further changes

We made some more improvements to PhaenoMind and also one bugfix was implemented.

The first improvement is related to our case studies. You can download a case study now and use it with the LITE version. It is possible to change rating and ranking, also the attributes can be modified. It is not possible to add or remove anything in decisions, options and criteria with the LITE version. But changing values, calculation and printing works perfect.

The second improvement is a better printout with the pairwise comparison values listed as text below the matrices. This makes it muche easier to understand an AHP decision.

Last not least one bug was fixed which sometimes caused problems loading backed up decision files.

This version will stay for some time now - we will concentrate on marketing a little bit more now.

Be prepared, have fun!
